Media Release:
The PGA World Alliance, the global body representing the world’s professional golf organisations, is proud to announce the establishment of ‘Thank a PGA Pro Day’, which will take place for the first time on July 31, 2026.
Thank a PGA Pro Day will be a dedicated global day of recognition in celebration of PGA Professionals who make such a significant difference to the golf community every single day.
Our women and men of the PGAs around the world have dedicated their lives to the sport through leadership, coaching, mentorship and administration by becoming PGA Professionals and they are recognised as custodians of the sport through their expertise.
With more than 60,000 PGA Professionals managing and working in golf clubs and all innovative and tech facilities around the world, these individuals have had a profound impact on both grassroots golf and in the development of some of the world’s leading stars competing on male and female professional Tours.
Gavin Kirkman, Chair of the PGA World Alliance and CEO of the PGA of Australia, said: “The ‘Thank A PGA Pro Day’ initiative offers an opportunity for all golfers in our global communities to pay tribute to the women and men around the world who play such an important role in growing the game.
“PGA Professionals hold critical roles across all aspects of the sport, either as the first point of contact for budding players, local administrators, junior coaches or as a friendly face ready to offer advice to millions of recreational players globally.
“As we celebrate the inaugural ‘Thank A Pro Day’, on behalf of the PGA World Alliance, I’d like to say thank you to every PGA Professional around the world for your continued passion, dedication and contribution to golf. We are proud to recognise your tireless work, expertise and impact you have on a daily basis as you continue to serve as some of the greatest ambassadors of the sport that we love.”
The PGA World Alliance invites golfers of all levels, members and societies to join in the celebration on July 31, 2026 through #ThankAPGAProDay across all social media channels.
